It’s hard to believe we are already nearly a third of the way through 2016. Music-wise, the year has been off to somewhat of a slow start, but things are steadily picking up with some big releases on the horizon: namely Deftones, Katatonia, and Thrice. Of course, the first third of the year hasn’t been completely void of new material. To kick things off, Opia dropped their magnificent debut (Eon), The Word Alive took a surprising and pleasant turn away from metalcore with Dark Matter, O‘Brother gave us their beautiful new work (Endless Light), and Port Noir just released their full-length sophomore record (Every Way the Wind Carries).
It is at this time that I’d like to shift the attention to those of you have been supporting The Undertow and NewGenerationSlave with your likes, shares, subscriptions, and comments. This March the NewGenerationSlave YouTube page reached a noteworthy milestone: 1500 subscribers! From the bottom of my heart I’d just like to give a massive thank you to everyone who has been following the page and, most importantly, to the bands and artists. They are the reason this endeavor began in the first place and deserve the utmost credit and support for their creativity.
Be sure to let me know what you’ve been listening to in 2016!
